Rocking horse

"I was actually trying to fold a flying squirrel, when I noticed possibilities for a rocking horse and dimetrodon. These two models developed quite naturally, and the squirrel didn't seem that appealing after that."

Bubble-eyed goldfish

"The bubble eye was folded from the same basic form that I used for the tancho oranda and a second version of the blackmoor goldfish (which I have since reworked again). It looks pretty silly on its own, and needs to be in the company of the other species of goldfish I folded to justify its presence!"

Tortoise

"One of my earliest models from experimental folding to give my origami 'fingers & toes' and facial features. I hadn't tried my hand at making tissue foil or wet-folding then yet, and was working almost exclusively with gold or silver foil (yucks)."

Hermit crabs

"Something from the late 70s or very early 80s, I think. These were among some of the models I subsequently found to have broad similarities to other folders' origami and put aside, although they were developed independently."
